Umbrella Bed

Umbrella Bed is a nine-piece ska unit finely machined to exact specifications. Unfortunately, the design and plans were lost before production of the members began so we had to make it up as we went. The result is an amusing amalgam of instruments and personas that manage to converge in an energetic and pleasing focus group.

Principally influenced by the Second Wave of ska from London in the late 1970s and early 1980s, they are firmly rooted in Two-Tone tradition. But as their attention deficit gets the best of them, Umbrella Bed also indulges in first-wave showdowns, loud fast mow downs, and twangy instrumental hoe downs.
